Summer Escape: Hamptons Edition

We've been busy, busy, busy over here at the Latina offices (We're getting ready to move offices, which as anyone who has ever moved can tell you, is hell!). But that's not the only thing that's been stressing me out lately. Summer is upon us in NYC and that means you basically sweat your entire commute to and from work. Just imagine walking from your apartment to the subway in 85+ degree weather with 80% humidity, getting on a packed train (Read: Lots of body heat) and then having to walk from the train stop to your office in the scorching weather again. #drenched

And I'm not alone - even if you drive to work in the comforts of A/C, commuting can be a stress-inducing experience. According to a recent national study by Ford, "the majority of drivers have a less than positive commute which is affecting their stress levels, relationships and everyday health and wellness. So now more than ever is the perfect time to grab the keys and hit the open road for a weekend escape!"

So, where did I take my weekend escape...in a Ford Escape? As anyone who has ever been to NYC in summer can tell you, the Hamptons is where it's at. This weekend, I got the extra special privilege of visiting Chris Burch's Hamptons house for a pool party celebrating swimwear company Solid & Striped. Olivia Palermo, Johannes Huebl, Hilary Rhoda, and Sean Avery were all in attendance looking super stylish (and Hamptons chic). Guests of the party lounged around (and in) the pool, munched on delicious food from BLT and even got to take home some of the simple-yet-sexy suits.

It was then off to Sag Harbour, a quaint town a few miles away from Chris's Southhampton estate. The town has the cutest restaurants, shops, theaters and beautiful views of sailboats on the harbor. If you ever get a chance to visit the Hamptons, Sag Harbor is a MUST! Check out some pics from town:

Fun summer tip about the Ford Escape: You can stay protected when you head off into the sunshine with SPF 50 protection in the vehichle's moonroof.

There's even an adorable vineyard nearby where you can have a glass of wine while watching the sunset.

So, where will you escape this summer? Tell me in the comments!
