The Spring/Summer 2015 BCBGMAXAZRIA runway collection is a combination of timeless elegance and bohemian silhouettes. The abstract floral prints are inspired by the Color Reform concept, they have a sun-bleached softness and richness that create a chromatic experience.
For beauty the looks created for the show were boho glam. "The inspiration is a girl who just got back from Ibiza. She's a bit hippie, pretty and sun-kissed but not in a makeup way," says Val Garland for MAC Cosmetics. The nails were a beautiful blush shade in 'Bubble Bath' by OPI. "The color is iconic for a reason, the pale pink is feels fresh for spring and offers a pretty pop against your skin," offers Miss Pop, nail artist for the show.
The hair is fluid, soft and natural, but it's the distinctive off-center part that gives the look a little whimsy and wonder. We asked lead hair stylist Orlando Pita for CHI Haircare how to get the runway look at home. "All you need is a blow dryer, flat iron and one multi-tasking spray to create the look that's as carefree as the collection."
- To prep spray hair with CHI 44 Iron Guard to protect strands from thermal styling tools and to create volume and a manageable texture.
- Next blow dryer with the CHI Touchscreen Dryer. Don't brushing through your hair, instead finger comb to make hair straight (but not stick-straight).
- Then the moving to the back of the hair, flat-iron the last 2 inches of the hair to make the end really straight using the CHI G2 Titanium Hairstyling Iron.
- Leave an off-center part at the top middle of the head, blow dry just using fingers to direct hair back and get a little lift at the crown.
- Finish the look with the CHI 44 Iron Guard Style & Stay to get a firm but flexible hold.
- If you need to touch it up, try the new CHI Escape Cordless Styling Iron to smooth any frizz or flyaways.
