This morning the Venezuelan-born designer made waves with her F/W15 collection — just as she intended. For this collection, Carolina Herrera was inspired by water. She incorporated many shades of grey, blue, and white hues to romantic and elegant styles provoking a rippling water effect as the models glided through the runway.

Known for her regal aesthetic, the international designer did take some fashion risks (that all worked) by fusing modern and classic elements and trends. There were splashes of bright red throughout the collection – as accents, on whole suits, in crocodile print, and fur trimming. You saw 3d metallic embellishments that resembled sea life. And, instead of going for a classy heel, as usual, this girl is wearing trendy flats and her hair pulled back into a low ponytail.
This season Herrera presented a collection that was just as elegant as it was modern and trendy – now that’s talent.
