Rolando Santana's Spring/Summer 2015 collection took inspiration from artist Mark Rothko. The impactful colors and graphic textures in the collection were enhanced by beauty looks that were just as inspired. Backstage at the show, MAC Cosmetics Key Makeup Artist, Romero Jennings told us his direction for the show: "Ultra-tailored, sophisticated yet playful."
Get The Look:
Eyes: "Stormy Pink" Pro Longwear Paint Pot was wrapped around the eye socket and diffused. Then Spring/Summer 2015 Trend Eye Palette "Nightwalk" was gently buffed into the lid in a scant amount. Chromographic nude pencil was used to freshen the waterline. Extended Play Mascara was applied on the top lash line to finish the look.
Face: Spring/Summer 2015 Trend Lip Palette "Must Have Melon" was used on the apples of the cheek. Then taupe blush was used as a slight contour. Finish with Vanilla Pigment on the top of the cheek bone, nose and chin to highlight.
Lips: Spring/Summer 2015 Trend Lip Palette "Must Have Melon" was pressed into the lips.
On nails, ZOYA worked with Santana to create a limited edition collection and the look for the show aptly named: “Side Part.” Using 3 colors: ZOYA in Blu, a Custom Pastel Green, and a Custom Pastel Lavender the “Side Part” uses offset vertical bars in white pastels to re-imagine Rothko as nail art. The look is flirty and feminine, perfect for spring and summer.
