We caught up with one of our favorite fashionistas, Bella Thorne, at the Alice + Olivia by Stacey Bendet Spring 2015 presentation during New York Fashion Week. We chatted with the actress, singer, and Latina 30 Under 30 nominee about style secrets, beauty must-haves, and food (obviously) — she what she had to say in this exclusive interview, below!
You are such a beauty Chameleon — what trends are you loving right now?
Right now I’m all about glowing skin. I also love a wine-stained, berry lip. I don’t like pinks on my face because they make my teeth look yellow, so I usually stick to a brownish, red stain, or a nude color.
Speaking of glowing skin, you're the face of Neutrogena — what’s your #1 product pick from them?
Probably the Neutrogena MoistureSmooth Color Sticks. They’re not lipsticks exactly, but moisturizing crayons and they're great. I'm almost always traveling, so my lips are really dry and when I need to wear colors to an event, I can wear that and still feel comfortable.
Your stylist Johnny Wujek is a fashion mastermind — what’s the number one styling trick you’ve learned from working with him?
I think because we just started working together, I'm always like, I don’t like this, and I don’t like that, but Johnny is up for whatever and tries a whole bunch of different stuff. There’s not one thing that he’s like I absolutely hate that, or he would never pull that for me. He’s really up for a good ride; he’s up to get funky and that’s cool.
Your boots are major today. What are your favorite shoe styles from Candies since you work with the brand?
I really like their strappy shoes.
Since you’re in for Nueva York for Fashion Week, do you have a favorite Latin restaurant here?
We just went to Café Havana; it's really good. My friend was talking to me about it and she said they have really good corn there. So then I went there without her, and I was like 'OMG this corn really is so good'.
We expect a lot from you on Halloween — tell us what you're thinking this year, costume wise:
I want to go Chola style. I want to do the ripped jeans, really baggy boxers, tied up at the neck flannel. Eyeliner, lip liner, mole — I’m down for it. Or, I want to be Sailor Moon. Not Sailor Moon herself, but her best friend Chibiusa with the pink hair.
FYI Bella's amazing outfit is from Alice + Oliva. She's wearing the 'Harlow' sleeveless Victorian blouse and 'Pharl' fit & flare skirt with the 'Felisa' embellished zippered jacket from the Resort 2015 collection and the 'Jacqueline' suede boot.
